Reasons You Shouldn't Wait to Choose Jesus Until Right Before You Die.
Some people think, "Why not just wait to accept Jesus until I die? Why not enjoy life now and worry about faith later?" On the surface, that might seem like a logical approach—live life to the fullest and then turn to God when the time comes. But is that really the best way to go about things? Let’s take a deeper look.
1. No One Knows When Their Time Will Come
The biggest assumption in waiting to accept Jesus is that you will have the chance later. But the truth is, none of us know when our time will come. Life is unpredictable. James 4:14 reminds us, "You do not know what tomorrow will bring." Why take the risk of waiting when eternity is at stake?
2. True Joy Comes from a Relationship with Christ
Many believe that following Jesus means giving up fun, but that’s a misunderstanding. The world offers temporary pleasure, but true, lasting joy is found in Jesus. Psalm 16:11 says, "In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." The joy, peace, and purpose that come from knowing Jesus far outweigh anything the world has to offer.
3. Sin Promises Freedom but Leads to Bondage
Living without Jesus may seem freeing at first, but sin always has consequences. Whether it's broken relationships, regret, or emptiness, the so-called "fun" of sin often leaves people feeling worse in the end. Jesus Himself said in John 8:34, "Everyone who sins is a slave to sin." But He also offers freedom: "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).
4. Eternal Life Begins Now
Salvation isn’t just about avoiding hell—it’s about starting a new life now. When you accept Jesus, you experience transformation. You gain purpose, direction, and a relationship with the God who created you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, the new has come."
5. Sharing Jesus with Others
If you wait until death to turn to Jesus, you miss out on the opportunity to share His love with others. Your testimony could be the reason someone else comes to faith. Jesus calls His followers to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Why not start shining now?
