The High Way Journal, By Kelly Kirstein, is a guided journal that helps you build faith in Jesus. This post offers one slide per day (Days 36-40) with simple questions to help you complete each page of Week 8. Get closer to God one verse at a time.
Day 1: Journal Pg. 52
Invite Holy Spirit to fill you with his presence. Ask him to give you wisdom to understand scripture.
Who is your favorite singer or movie star? Can you imagine having access to talk to them any time you want?
Choosing Christ as our Savior means we have access to him in Heaven. Write about an area of your life that needs healing.
What would it look like if you used the access you have to Jesus to get the healing you need?
How do you think you would be different?
Day 2: Journal Pg. 53
Thank Holy Spirit for his presence in your life. Let his light fill your heart.
Are you stressing out? Feeling like you could explode from emotions?
Matthew 6 has the solution. Stop trying to figure it out yourself. Turn your eyes up and surrender the problem to God.
How? Let Holy Spirit lead you through the problem one step at a time. Ask him what to do first.
Any stress thought that comes tell yourself that God is more powerful than what you're up against. Press into his peace.
At first it you will have to work at this mentality, but eventually it will become the way you deal with stress.
Day 3: Journal Pg. 54
Ask Holy Spirit to pull off any offense or feelings of rebellion. Ask Him to fill you with peace.
Say aloud the word repent. What emotions or thoughts come to your mind when you hear the word?
Repent means to turn from evil in the Bible. The idea is that it restores you back to good.
In English it can mean to feel shame or guilt-ridden. In the world it can mean you feel condemned or judged.
Ask Holy Spirit to help you understand the difference between the biblical meaning and the worldly meaning?
How do you think the enemy wins when we attach negative feelings with repenting?
Day 4: Journal Pg. 55
Invite Holy Spirit to wrap you in light. Take a moment to soak in his presence.
Write out what this verse says about how people enter the kingdom of heaven.
If God represents good and light, then anything apart from him is darkness. Why would you have to do God's will to get into the kingdom of light?
Deep thinking: What would Heaven be like if God let people in that didn't want to do his will?
Day 5: Journal Pg. 56
Ask Holy Spirit to help you receive the blessings given to you by the Father and to believe that you have inherited the Kingdom of God in your life.
Draw and Describe what a blessed life would look like to you.
Dream Big: for your family, house, car, career and whatever your imagination can think of.
