Establish Your Connection: Ask Holy Spirit to help you see the world the way Jesus sees it. Let him saturate you with faith and hope for the future. The hope is that through what you have learned you a better understanding of how to live life in connection to God. You believe God created everything with a plan and for a purpose. Week 12 Intro: Journal Pg. 72
Day 1: Journal Pg. 73-74
Context: Romans 11: 33-35 draw us into understanding of the fact that God's wisdom and knowledge exceed all others. That no one is his counselor or gives God a thing because it all belongs to him, as the creator.
Commentary: Ellicott's Commentary says that Romans 11:36 implies the unity of creation with God the Father. The whole creation came from him and returns to him in his good design. (Biblehub.org)

Day 2: Journal Pg. 75
Context: Hebrews 11 focuses on Faith in action. The passage shares stories of God's faithful people like Noah and Abraham. Towards the end of Hebrews 11 it explains that that through faith these faithful people were looking for a better place...a heavenly one (Hebrews 11:16).
Question: Do you believe that God exists and that he rewards those who seek him?
Commentary: Barnes' notes explains that Hebrews 11:6 means that it is impossible to please God, if we don't have confidence in his faithfulness to us, his truth, wisdom and promises. (Biblehub.org)
Definition: Faith- complete trust and confidence in someone or something.
Question: How is faith different thank believing God exists? What are the benefits of faith and trust in God?
Day 3: Journal Pg. 76
Commentary: Matthew Poole's Commentary says, "We see nothing here by the eye of sense but mortality, corruption, and misery; but by faith we see another more excellent and glorious state, and we order our life according to our faith, and sight of things that are invisible:" (Biblehub.org)
Thought: Seeing the world through our own lens leads to anxiety, hopelessness, and depression. Faith gives us insight and vision into the work that God is doing that unbelievers can't see. We live aware of the Spiritual Realm and know that the superior reality of heaven can shape and impact any circumstance.
Scenario: The parents of 5 children get a bill for a medical procedure that they don't have the money to pay for.
Write about the worldly reality of what could happen to the family.
Write about the heavenly reality of how God could work through this situation, if the family surrenders the problem to God and tries to follow the Holy Spirit.
Day 4: Journal Pg. 77
Definition: Freedom: liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another
Thought: The only way to draw near to God with a true heart is to find freedom from sin through Christ.
Commentary: Matthew Poole's Commentary breaks down the verse by explaining that Christ is the one who allows people to draw near.
Question: What area of your life to do you have the hardest time drawing near to God and letting go of sin?
Reflection: Finish out the study writing an honest prayer to God about where you are in your faith life, and the type of faith you dream about.
