Money. Is it really true that you can’t serve God & money?
You decide.
Think about your career path. There are many ways to go.
If you want to serve God, you need to pray and ask God to show you what He created you to do with your life. Knowing that His plans were made for more than just you.
Your career will be for the benefit of His kingdom and to shed light in this world. Jesus leads the way. You trust that God will provide.
Money is not the motivation, instead money is a provision from God.
OR you can choose your career by selecting the job that provides security and money. Climbing the ladder to success is your guide. While you may acknowledge that God exists, your purpose is not to walk in step with His plans.
You may even ask, “How do you know I cannot serve money and God?”
The answer: scripture says you can’t. What does your heart tell you? "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24
Action Step
Think about what your life would look life it you serve God. What would you do? What will be your motivation?
What will your life look like, if you choose a job based on the amount of money you make? What would you do for a job? What do you want to do with all the money?
Prayer
Hey God. You know we all need money to live. I don't know if I understand the difference between serving you and serving money. I don't want to be poor. Help me learn to trust that you will provide for me, if I choose to do things your way. Life looks fun and easy for people who have a lot of money. Help me understand why you don't want money to be the focus of my life. I am glad I can talk to you about this stuff. I love you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
